How to add style to your everyday look

How to Fold a Pocket Square

Italian pocket squares add a pop of color and style. They can be used without a tie for a looser, more modern sartorial look. There are two popular ways to wear a pocket square, the classic fold and the puff fold.

Watch this demonstration of how to wear a pocket square from our Head of Design and resident style guide, Nick Picchione.

Feel free to sneeze into your pocket square because only your social posts should go viral.

The Simple Square Fold

The simple square is a great fold for a solid color pocket square in linen or cotton.

Step 1: Lay the pocket square fully open on a flat surface. Fold the square in half and then in half again, so now it's folded in quarters in a square shape.

Step 2: Fold it one more time so it's in a rectangle shape, then fold one end up by a 1/3 so it's a shorter rectangle.

Step 3: Tuck it into the breast pocket so half an inch to an inch is left out and showing.

The Simple Puff Fold

The puff fold is best with a patterned pocket square, especially with a double printed fabric because it allows you to see the print on both sides. It works well with both silk and cotton fabrics.

Step 1: Lay the pocket square fully open on a flat surface. Using the tips of your fingers, gather the square loosely in the middle and pull it up with corners hanging.

Step 2: Wrap you hand around the ends and fold the fabric in two so the pully middle and the pointy corners meet and lay against each other.

Step 3: Place the folded end into your breast pocket so the puff and corners show two or three inches. It doesn't have to be perfectly symmetrical, in fact the charm of the puff fold is that it's always different.

How to Wear a Scarf

The Euro-Loop is a modern way to tie a scarf. Aside from being super easy and super stylish, it keeps your scarf securely in place.

Think beyond winter, tap into your inner Los Angelino, and wear a lightweight scarf with a tee shirt on a sunny day.

Here is a step by step on tying a scarf.

Step 1: Fold a scarf the long way (depending on the width, it may need two folds).

Step 2: Next fold horizontally over your hand and drape it around your neck.

Step 3: Then simply pull the fringe end through the looped opening where your hand is and pull the fringed end through, snug up to your neck.

This modern method of wearing a scarf looks great and provides superior warmth because it stays securely close around the neck. Scarves don't have to be heavy. This is actually one of our scarves. It's wool and visco, so it's super light, super airy. It's a great accent piece. It's a nice accessory and just adds a little bit of style to your look.

How to Wear a Neckerchief

If it was cool enough for Clint it’s cool enough for you. Wear a neckerchief scarf as you would a bandana. We love it rolled and tied around the neck with any range of shirt – collared, crewneck, or sweater. Wear it instead of a necktie for a modern and stylish look.

Pull it up bandit-style when the paparazzi are waiting outside.

Here is a step by step on tying a neckerchief.

Step 1: Lay the neckerchief on a flat surface. Take two of the corner points and bring them together to meet at the center, then fold a scarf the long way (depending on the width, it may need two folds).

Step 2: Fold each length without overlapping them at the center, then fold one side over the other like closing a sandwich.

Step 3: Once folded loosely wrap it around your neck and tie simple knot, then tuck the end into your shirt.
